Metoc PLC Current Measurement Surveys, Dunoon
iXSurvey was contracted by BiwaterLeslie JV to provide current measurements at the site of a proposed long shore outfall offshore Dunoon in the Clyde Estuary.
The project included seabed mounted acoustic doppler current profilers, together with dye tracing and drogue tracking, and was conducted using the locally chartered vessel, "Rathmor".
Results from the initial drogue tracking indicated a strong possibility of the subsequent dye survey reaching the shore, and Metoc were therefore consulted prior to this phase of operations.
A decision was made to move the release location further offshore, and the dye survey was successfully completed thereafter.
