IXSEA PHINS II INERTIAL NAVIGATION SYSTEM

Heading Accuracy with GPS Aiding: 0.01° secant latitude

Heading Accuracy with DVL Aiding: 0.02° secant latitude

Heading Accuracy with no Aiding: 0.05° secant latitude

Roll and Pitch Accuracy: 0.01°

Heave Accuracy: 5 cm or 5% (whichever is highest)

PHINS inertial navigation system provides highly accurate true-heading, attitude, speed and position. The sensor includes a high-level inertial core based on Fibre-Optic Gyroscopes coupled to an embedded Digital Signal Processor.

Running one single GPS antenna (or a combination of positioning systems installed on board) and capable of being interfaced to a variety of common industry sensors (e.g. Velocity Doppler Logs, USBL, GPS), PHINS is ideal for marine surface applications, to drive multibeam echosounder with high performance in the event of a GPS outage, and for subsea AUV control and guidance.

PHINS technology makes it the lightest and most compact INS in the world. The systems consumes a mere 12 watts, and because of this has enjoyed widespread acceptance as a turnkey position / reference solution for demanding applications onboard towed fishes, ROVs, AUVs and hydrographic vessels.
