The Reson 8101 is a 240 kHz multibeam system that measures relative water depths across a 150° swath, consisting of 101 individual 1.5° x 1.5° beams. Each beam is formed by seven receive elements, rotating from port to starboard such that each group of seven is relatively perpendicular to the received acoustic energy assigned to the beam.
With high accuracy and a measurement rate up to 30 profiles per second, the SeaBat 8101 enables surveys to be completed faster and in greater detail then previously possible. The compact and portable SeaBat has become an industry standard for high performance bathymetry systems, and produces a swath of up to five hundred metres in width in water depths up to three hundred metres.
