These systems are typically operated from small vessels and produce seismic images of the seabed to average depths of 40 to 60 meters below the seabed. iXSurvey has conducted numerous surveys utilising boomer sources operating in the frequency band between 2 to 11kHz. Data are recorded digitally and interpretation is performed typically on CODA workstations.
The Applied Acoustics boomer system is widely accepted by the marine geophysical community as the best option for high resolution, deep penetration profiling in both deep ocean and shallow coastal environments.
